Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue is l. Ellis, the American actor and producer who has been in the theater and television as and is present in both the film and theater screen. Her career began as an actor in theater before going on to make appearances in numerous TV shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. The actress was famous for her role as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. The series both received critical acclaim, but she also took home a variety of awards. Her career began acting in 1995 as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. The actress has appeared as a character on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted by her roles on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. For her work on television she has been praised for her part as the regular character in ABC's cop drama High Incident.
